The Big Easy Rascals is founded in 2007 in Enkhuizen, Holland. A small city where jazz is alive and popular among all age groups. This band is a result of this lively jazz scene. With mostly young musicians in the line-up they do distinguish their selves from most traditional jazz bands and they keep jazz alive!
New Orleans, also called “the Big Easy”, is the cradle of Jazz. In the early days this was their popular style of music. The Big Easy Rascals are inspired by famous musicians such as Louis Armstrong, Kid Ory, Sidney Bechet, Django Reinhardt and many others. Because of these pioneers, the “Rascals” developed their swinging and powerful way of playing.
